I work in a call centre and we finish at 9.30pm on a Saturday night. It’s only a 5 hour shift but still.

The hiring and firing is true, and our centre records every single call (we have to since we are a horse race betting company).

Having said about the flawless American or British accent, we get loads of phonecalls here from call centres in India and 9/10, most people will hang up without hearing what they have to say. I understand how hard it is to be on the end of the call and having people hang up on you, but I am guilty of doing it myself when we get telemarketers ring our home phone.

Pretty much, life in a call centre sucks, apart from the pay.
