Cost of what?
As far as AIDS is concerned, India has one of the world’s highest infection rates.
Yet something I heard when I visited the barber recently disturbed me greatly.
A middle aged woman brought her son for a haircut and when the barber replaced the old razor blade with a new one, the woman insisted that the barber use the old one and thus asked him to lower the price of the haircut. The barber at first was perplexed and then tried to explain to the lady about the danger involved in using a blade already used on someone else, but seemingly to no avail.
I exited the shop. See what poverty and hunger can do to people. Or was it just madness?
